Information about condition of marine waters
Ecological condition of the coastal marine waters of Peter the Great Bay in spring-summer of 2025 year
During the spring-summer period of 2025, a comprehensive monitoring program was organized within the framework of the state assignment. During this program, water samples were collected in the vast waters of Peter the Great Bay, covering such important areas as the Golden Horn Bay, the Eastern Bosphorus Strait, Nakhodka Bay, Amur and Ussuri Bays.
Based on the observation results, the water quality class of Nakhodka Bay and Amur Bay is classified as quality class III "moderately polluted". The water quality class in the Golden Horn Bay, the Eastern Bosphorus Strait and Ussuri Bay is classified as quality class IV "polluted".
Compared to 2024, the quality classes of water bodies remained at the same level.
According to the observation results, the average concentrations of heavy metals in the entire water area of Peter the Great Bay during the observation period did not exceed the established maximum permissible concentrations (MPC).
Average concentrations of phenols during the observation period in the entire water area of Peter the Great Bay varied from 1.5 μg/dm3 to 2.8 μg/dm3 (Fig. 1).
The average concentrations of anionic surfactants (AS) during the observation period throughout the entire water area of Peter the Great Bay varied from 82 μg/dm3 to 290 μg/dm3 (Fig. 2).
The average concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons during the observation period throughout the entire water area of Peter the Great Bay varied from 0.01 mg/dm3 to 0.04 mg/dm3 (Fig. 3).
